Country Music Performance at the White House

The White House honors Country Music on November 21 at 7 p.m. ET. The event will be streamed live on pbs.org/whitehouse and whitehouse.gov/live.

Performances include Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker, Kris Kristofferson, Alison Krauss, Lyle Lovett, the Band Perry, and legendary James Taylor.
The annual PBS show will feature mostly country music.  

Taping for the “In Performance at the White House” will be held in the East Room.  

President Barack Obama and the first lady will host the event.

In a press conference issued by the White House, the event is slated to feature an afternoon of educational workshops. Produced by The Grammy Museum, middle and high school students will learn the “History of Country Music: From Barn Dances to Pop Charts”.

Some of the country artists performing in the evening concert will share their experiences of country music and answer students’ questions during the afternoon workshops.

The hour long music special will air on PBS stations nationwide Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. ET. Check your local stations for times and listings.
